Hi Pete,
After spending the past few years making bad mattress decisions, we decided to check to see what the experts have to say. Many of the so-called experts online are pushing the same failed mattresses we've had. The advice on your blogs is the only information that makes any sense. Which begs the question, "What does The Mattress Expert sleep on at home?". Send me a link to that mattress, and that's the one I'll order. Thanks, Janet Hi Janet, That's sound logic. The mattress my wife and I sleep on is still in like new condition after 9+ years and with each of us over 200 lbs. And, despite having a very bad back, I sleep and wake without back pain. That mattress is the Natura of Canada Greenspring Ultra Plush. Hi Pete,
What's the strongest mattress for very heavy people? I weigh about 350 lbs. My wife is about 300 lbs. We can’t seem to find a mattress that lasts very long. Having to replace a mattress so frequently has gotten to be expensive. I don’t mind spending what is necessary for long term results. Can you help me with this? We only need a mattress. We already have a solid base platform bed. Thanks, Joe Hi Joe, I can, indeed, help you. Over the years, we’ve helped people who weighed in excess of 500 Lbs. It’s important to understand that a mattress, like any other upholstered product, is pressure sensitive. The softer it is to start, the quicker it will wear. Most of today’s mattresses, including all of the name brands that you could once trust to make a quality product, are upholstering their mattresses with memory foam. Memory foam is temperature sensitive, as well as pressure sensitive. The temperature sensitivity causes memory foam to soften further as it warms from your body heat. This makes the wearing process exponentially faster. There are are two parts to a mattress…the support and the comfort. The comfort layers will wear first. So, for the sake of longevity, it’s important to use a latex topper to provide the comfort. Latex is and has been the most resilient, most durable upholstery material…by far. My recommendation comes in two parts: A mattress strong enough to hold your weight. That very strongest mattress we could find while shopping at the industry trade shows is: The Natura of Canada Greenspring Firm Mattress Shown here: https://www.themattressexpert.com/natura_mattresses.html#/ Natura Mattresses Natura uses High Quality Natural Materials, which provide excellent support and longevity. www.themattressexpert.com Add to that mattress a removable Dunlop Latex Mattress Topper. This will provide you the surface comfort you’ll need to sleep well. It will last for a few years and is easily replaceable, without having to replace the mattress for many, many years. The highest quality latex toppers are made by Suite Sleep…Pure, Organic Latex. Shown here: https://www.themattressexpert.com/latex_toppers.html#/ I recommend the 2” Medium Soft. The mattress comes with White Glove Delivery The topper arrives via FedEx. There’s no charge for delivery/shipping. Thanks, Pete Never: Use an old box spring/foundation with any new mattress. Doing so voids the warranty of the mattress. https://www.themattressexpert.com/foundations_and_bases.html#/ Always: Use a waterproof mattress protector. Your new mattress will last longer if kept clean and dry. https://www.themattressexpert.com/store/p169/Organic_Cotton_Waterproof_Mattress_Protector.html#/ Follow us on Facebook and Twitter Website: https://themattressexpert.com/ Email: [email protected] Voicemail: 856-874-6894 Hello Pete,
I slept on a mattress, last night, in Massachusetts Hotel. What mattress is most like the hotel mattress I slept on? Thanks, John Hi John, Hotel mattresses consist of individually pocketed coils, which promoted proper spinal alignment, and are upholstered with Polyurethane Foam for long lasting comfort at a reasonable price. The Wolf Tulah Luxury Plush Eurotop Mattress has the specifications most like those used in most hotels. https://www.themattressexpert.com/wolf_mattresses.html#/ UPDATE!…This Wolf Mattress Has Been Discontinued. We are pleased to offer you a higher quality mattress from Eco-Terra. This mattress provides the same support with an upgrade in upholstery. The higher quality upholstery provides greater comfort and longevity. I had been using a Magniflex Mattress. I traded it with close friends for a queen Tempur-Pedic as I only had a twin. I am finding the Tempur-Pedic too soft on the up side which may be a 'pillow top’. I'm now looking for a Magniflex Mattress. Can you help me? Thanks, Margret Hi Margret, Tempur-Pedic's memory foam is made of 61 different chemicals, that is temperature sensitive. It’s this temperature sensitivity that reacts to your body’s heat, softening as it warms. This is what allows you to sink into it. Magniflex’s advanced memory foam is chemical free and NOT temperature sensitive. Your friends got the better of that trade. Here’s a link to the Magniflex line of mattresses. There are quite a few, so take your time perusing those and get back to me with any questions. https://www.themattressexpert.com/magniflex.html#/ Shipping is Free Thanks, Pete A waterproof mattress protector will extend the life of any mattress, keeping it clean and dry. https://www.themattressexpert.com/store/p169/Organic_Cotton_Waterproof_Mattress_Protector.html#/ Website: https://themattressexpert.com/ Email: pete.themattressexpert@gmail.com Voicemail: 856-874-6894 Follow us on Facebook and Twitter |
