Hi Pete,
More than 15 years ago, we purchased a Sealy SpringFree Meadowcrest Latex Mattress from you. It was, expensive, but very good and worth every penny. We loved it through the years, but it's time for king size mattress. This one will be going into our guest bedroom, as it is still in excellent condition. I understand that this mattress is no longer being made. What do you have, today, that would be like this one? Any suggestions? Thanks, Irma Hi Irma, The mattress that is similar in feel to your Sealy SpringFree Meadowcrest is: The Natura of Canada Blossom Plush Natural Talalay Latex Mattress. The specifications are even a bit better. You'll like it very much. Hi Pete!
We are interested in purchasing a brand new all latex king size mattress. I’m not sure if you have different models, but can you let us know which is best and how much it costs? We live in New York City and would hope for shipment within four weeks as you said. We're replacing a Sealy SpringFree Weybridge Latex Mattress, that we bought from you 14 years ago. Thanks, Kelly Hi Kelly, Nothing promotes disappointment more than expectations. Change the word, “within” to “approximately”, to avoid disappointment. Do you carry the Sealy Reflexion Plush Latex Mattress? I'm looking for a comparable mattress for our house in Montana. Thank you, Sofia Hi Sophia, That’s an all latex mattress with 2" of poly foam on top. We used to sell that mattress when Sealy was owned by Sealy. Now that Tempurpedic owns Sealy, they don’t make it anymore. They now only make mattresses with memory foam in them. The Natura of Canada Blossom Plush All Natural Latex mattress is very similar to that Sealy mattress. I have been reading your info for over an hour and have a couple questions. I healed our back pain by removing our mattresses and getting 2 twin airbeds with king 2" foam topper. Now my husband wants a real mattress again. We almost bought a Stearns and Foster Mattress, this week, and so glad we didn't. I hate memory foam. My husband is 6'1" 240 lbs., with dense muscle mass. He works hard. I am 5'6" 180 lbs., and very active. We are nearly 50 and hurt by the end of the day. We need good sleep. We are side sleepers and sometimes both stomach sleepers. I am considering 2 twin xl instead of the king to reduce sag. Maybe that doesn't matter with better built mattresses. I see a couple of your recommendations like the Natura Blossom Latex Mattresses and the Wolf brand. Which is better for both healing bodies and longevity? And are there more to consider? I am eager for your advice and ready to order! Lastly, our new home does not have very high ceilings, so I plan to put our mattress on strong plywood, skip the box springs, and ultimately not hit our heads on the ceiling fan. Plus, I like sleeping cooler and closer to the ground than the ceiling. Look forward to your input. Thank you in advance for your kind help. Sincerely, Ruth Good Morning Ruth, Latex foam is and has been the best upholstery material for the last 100 years. It’s the most resilient, longest last and ideal for relaxing over worked muscles and pressure point relief. Given that your situation improved with an air mattress, a latex mattress is your best choice. The Natura of Canada Blossom in Plush is also very comfortable. Since there is a sizable difference in weight between you, it’ll be important to rotate your mattress on a regular basis…once a month for the first year, once every three months thereafter. A solid base platform is the perfect support for that mattress. The choice of 2 Twin-XL mattresses has its pros and cons. The biggest drawback is the center, which can be overcome with a cinch strap, which is available online. The other drawback is the price. The advantage is that you can rotate each mattress separately. His side is more likely to need replacing before your side, which makes it less expensive to replace. But latex lasts a very long time. And if you rotate it regularly, it shouldn’t be a problem. Also, if one of you wants firm and the other wants plush is another advantage of getting 2 Twin-XL. My vote would be for a one piece king. Here’s a link to the Natura Blossom Latex Mattress in Plush, which provides firm support, with a cool and comfortable sleeping surface. https://www.themattressexpert.com/natura_mattresses.html#/ The choice of firm isn’t suitable for the curves of a female body. The thicker, higher end Twilight models are less suitable for a big man. The more upholstery there is the faster a mattress will wear under 240 lbs. We have 2 twin-xl adjustable bed bases and need mattresses for them. We want all latex mattresses and like what we read about the Natura of Canada brand. I am considerably heavier than my wife and enjoy a firm mattress while my wife like something softer. Which mattresses would you recommend for each of us? Thanks, Phillip Hi Phillip, The Natura of Canada All latex mattresses are very high quality. They are made the way an all latex mattress should be, using Dunlop Latex for support and Talalay Latex for surface comfort. Given the difference in weight and comfort preferences, I recommend the Blossom models. Firm for you and Plush for the Mrs. Each are the same thickness, which make them the perfect combination for the two of you. I hope all is well on your end. Many years ago, I bought a Sealy SpringFree Beachside Latex Mattress from you that I have loved. It’s lived quite a long life, but needs to be replaced now. Can you recommend one just like it? Just a bit about me. I’m 73 now, so pressure points need to be comfortable. I’m 5’6”, have a bad back that’s killing me lately, weigh 180, most of which are in my stomach, hips and butt. Side sleeper 90%/back sleeper/10%. I need a full-size mattress (sleep with 3 fur babies) with good edge support. I sleep only on one side of it, and spend 4 or more hours with my elbow digging into the bed while on my side watching tv. Like the Sealy was, I need a bed that’s easy to turn or move around on – NO sinking or sagging. I’m like the old Princess who could feel a pea if it were under her mattress. This is my last hurrah for buying a mattress. For health and financial reasons, I can’t ‘afford’ to make a mistake (not that anyone can, I know..) So, I’m turning to you… What do you think I should do? Any advice would be sooo appreciated. Lori Hi Lori, You've had that mattress a very long time. I'm happy to hear that you've slept well for so long. And while that mattress was discontinued about a decade ago, there is a mattress with that exact same feel. The quality of the latex is even better in the mattress I'm recommending, so you can expect even longer longevity. My recommendation is for the Natura of Canada Blossom Plush Mattress. Thank you for your blog. I happened upon it last night and did a lot of reading. Thanks to the information you have shared, I now know what went wrong. I'm a young fellow, reasonably fit and without any physical damage to address. Like so many, I fell for all the sales hype about memory foam mattresses, and bought into it. As you have noted, it felt great to try at the store. It provided me with a great night's sleep for the first couple of months. It lasted just long enough to get me past the 60 day trial period. Now, I'm stuck. Just as you have said, I sink too far into it. My back hurts and my arms and legs are going numb. I had dismissed the headaches, not realizing that the memory foam off gassing was causing them. So, what I want is an all foam mattress that feels great for many years. I've looked at the all latex mattresses that you often recommend. I've considered flipping this mattress and adding a latex topper, another of your recommendations, but just want to get rid of this chemical laden memory foam mattress altogether. I need your help. What mattress can you recommend to me that gives me what I want, has NO Memory Foam in it. Thanks, Bill Hi Bill, Latex does everything that memory foam is advertised to do, without any of the negative side effects and providing a great night's sleep for many years....not just months. Your memory foam mattress isn't made of all memory foam. Depending on the model, it's a couple/few inches of memory foam atop several inches of high density polyurethane foam...which is why flipping it and adding a latex topper works so well. But, as you have said, the chemical off gassing will still be there. The Natura of Canada All Latex Mattresses will give you what you want. https://www.themattressexpert.com/natura_mattresses.html#/ These mattresses DO NOT Off Gas.
