Hi Pete, Does anyone make an old fashioned two sided mattress? I bought a two sided mattress from Serta, but it didn't hold up. Before long, my back started hurting and it smelled bad. Also, it sleeps hot. While they did a good job of creating the illusion, there was NOTHING old fashioned about it. What went wrong? Is there anything better? Thanks, Jillian Hi Jillian, Both, Simmons & Serta have a two-sided mattress upholstered with memory foam. THAT's what went wrong. They are the same company now, after having been sold to the same investment group. An old fashioned mattress, made between 1970 to 2010, would have been upholstered with poly foam. They wore well, didn't sleep hot and didn't off gas. Wolf makes an old fashioned quality mattress, but not two sided, using an individually pocketed coil unit, which maintains proper spinal alignment. The upholstery is Certi-Pur Certified, mostly poly foam. It wears well, does not sleep hot and there's NO Off Gassing. Hi Pete, After a lot of searching the internet, I landed on your informative blog and website. Please advise a replacement for Sealy Posturepedic Crown Jewel mattress. Our 2 guest bedrooms had these mattresses and almost every guest asked me for the brand info! While purchased in 2001, that are still in new shape despite monthly guests for several nights or a week. We need to replace both sets, due to smoke damage from a fire. Please advise a good specification for quality mattress that is reasonably priced for occasional use. Shipping to Los Angeles. Sealy was sold to Tempur-Pedic in 2013. Now, all Sealy mattresses are upholstered with mostly memory foam. Your mattress had no memory foam in it, which is why they performed so well, for so long. Hi Pete, A friend recommended the Wolf Pocketed Coil Tulah Mattress. They bought that from you a few years ago. We tried it when we visited them, last. It felt very nice. We had and loved a Simmons Beautyrest mattress, years ago. We have since, purchased a Tempurpedic mattress that is only a couple of years old. This mattress sleeps hot and causes me to wake with lower back pain. We link our mattress to be on the firm side. Is the Wolf Tulah a mattress you'd recommend for us?
