Hi Pete, Yesterday, I was delivered a Tempur-Pedic Mattress. I woke up all night long, with head to toe hives. I have an extreme rash all over my body, itchy, hot, scalp, legs, hips, back. The only place it wasn’t red was where my underwear is. I'm devastated, as it has taken us years to find the money to purchase this new mattress. I used no new products that day, nothing odd eaten. Thanks, Jim Hi Jim, There are a variety of memory foam mattresses out there to be had. Most of them should be totally avoided. Most mattresses made today use the worst type of memory foam for the purpose of selling more mattresses more frequently. This type of memory is loaded with toxic chemicals and is temperature sensitive. The toxic chemicals used off gas, creating a health hazard. Being temperature sensitive causes premature wear and misalignment of the spine, making any back problems exponentially worse. The sinking in, that this type of memory foam creates, causes numbness in your extremities. There is available, chemical-free memory foam, which doesn’t off gas. However, the problems of being temperature sensitive remain. There is a unique type of memory foam material that is both, chemical-free and not temperature sensitive… long-lasting…no off-gassing.
