Hi Pete,
We bought a king size Simmons Beautyrest mattress less than a year ago, and it is already sagging on each side where we sleep. We are average weight. The middle is still perfect. We tried to exchange it, but the sagging is not 1.5' deep. I can't sleep at all. It is too soft for me and I am starting to have back pain in my lumbar region and in my neck. My question is: Would a firm latex topper help or we should just buy a new mattress? We prefer a firm king mattress if you think getting a new one is the best option which one would you recommend?? Thanks, Joanna Hi Joanna, A body requires some degree of firm support and some surface softness in order to get a quality night’s sleep. Adding a firm latex topper to a too soft mattress would produce that which is the exact opposite of what you should have. You have 2 options. 1) Flip your mattress to the firm side and add a soft latex topper. 2) Buy a new mattress that provides comfort that you won’t sink into. Latex for Less has the best prices on high quality, pure, organic and hypoallergenic latex mattress toppers…shown here: Latex for Less Pure, Organic Latex Mattress Toppers 100% Natural Latex Mattress Topper | Latex For Less For people of average weight, or so, I have two mattress choices to consider. Both use the same firm individually pocketed coil system and both use the same amount of soft pure, organic latex upholstery. Latex is far more resilient than the memory foam in your mattress. Latex provides the unique feeling that you’re floating…very comfy. What’s more, it’s extremely long lasting. The two choices are: The Williams Kingston Plush Mattress The PlushBeds Luxury Bliss Mattress The Williams Mattress comes with White Glove Delivery, which includes setup on your bed and removal of your old mattress and all packaging materials. The PlushBeds Mattress comes with a 100 Night Trial Period. UPS delivery to your front door. Both mattress are currently On Sale. Both take about 2 Weeks to arrive. Keeping your mattress clean and dry and odor free will enhance longevity. The Sleep & Beyond Organic Cotton Waterproof Mattress Protector is my recommendation…the one we use at home. It sleeps cool and works well. The spaciousness of a king allows the users to sleep further apart. The hump up the middle develops due to no one sleeping there. It’s what is known as “The Nature of the Beast”. A standard king is almost square…square enough that when you rotate the mattress, rotate it 1/4 turn. Do this every month for the first year and every 3 months thereafter. This trick works well to ensure that your mattress wears more evenly. Thanks, Pete - TME Delivery is Always Free Online Ordering is Easy & Secure.
