Hi Pete,
My wife and I had a Simmons Beautyrest Pillowtop Mattress for about 10 years. So, when it came time to buy a new mattress, we bought another Beautyrest. The salesman sold us on a Simmons Beautyrest Black Pillowtop. I was a bit astonished by the $3000 price tag, but he assured me that this was their best mattress and would easily outlast our old one. We’ve had this mattress for less than 3 years. It looks and feels worse than our old one did after 10 years. I called the store to complain. They sent out a man to take measurements. I was told that the sagging wasn’t deep enough to meet the criteria set down in the manufacturer’s warranty. They absolutely refused to exchange it. What the hell happened, and what do we do now?! Thanks, Frank Hi Frank, What happened? Simmons was sold 9 years ago to an investment group that also bought Serta. They are now one company. The original company was focused on making a quality product. The new company is focused on making profits. One of the pitches on the TV ads talks about the Simmons Beautyrest Mattresses having “indulgent memory foam”. People and companies that are selling memory foam, push it…talking about it as though it was the best thing since sliced bread. Memory foam, in fact, is specifically designed to cause a mattress to need frequent replacing without benefit of a warranty exchange. Selling more mattresses more frequently without having to replace them under the terms of the warranty has boosted profits exponentially. Unfortunately, all of the major name brands that you could once trust to make a quality mattress, have been sold. Your story is common among consumers who have replaced their Simmons , Serta, Sealy and Stearns & Foster mattresses…all for the same reason…all upholstered with that same crappy, chemical laden memory foam that they told you was so great. What do you do now? I’m sorry to say that you’ll need to replace that mattress. Pure, Organic and Hypoallergenic Latex Foam is and has been thee best upholstery material for more than 100 years, providing long lasting comfort. If it’s a pillowtop mattress you’re wanting, I recommend the PlushBeds Signature Bliss Pillowtop Mattress…using an individually pocketed coil system, like that used in your old Beautyrest mattress. It’s currently ON SALE, and comes with a 100 Night Comfort Guarantee. We do recommend using a waterproof mattress protector. Every mattress should have one…an item that more than pays for itself. ******************************** Recommended related items that are commonly needed: Foundations https://www.themattressexpert.com/foundations.html#/ Bed Frames https://www.themattressexpert.com/bed_frames.html#/ Organic Cotton Waterproof Mattress Protector https://www.themattressexpert.com/sleep_and_beyond_protectors_and_encasements. ********************************* Visit our website for other related products TME Website: https://themattressexpert.com/ Thanks, Pete - TME Delivery is Always Free Online Ordering is Easy & Secure.
