Hi Pete,
I was wondering if you could suggest a comparable king size mattress to the Wynn Dream Bed? I’ve stayed a few times at the Encore in Boston & have become obsessed with that mattress- I love everything about it except for the price LOL! So if you know of a similar feeling mattress at a lower price point I’d be happy to buy it from you. Thanks for your help, Jenn Hi Jenn, There isn’t much specific information about that mattress, and some misinformation. For instance, Redditt says it’s a Serta. Actually, it’s a Sealy. While there’s no information about the upholstery materials, Sealy is owned by Tempurpedic…with their primary upholstery being memory foam. It’s a 15” pillowtop mattress, with an expensive cover. My recommendation for similar support, using the same coil system used by Sealy, and upholstery layers that are far superior to memory foam. The PlushBeds Luxury Bliss Mattress..upholstered with Pure, Organic and Hypoallergenic Latex upholstery. This mattress a is 12” thick, non-pillowtop. The pillowtop part of any pillowtop mattress is the first thing to show dramatic wear. Once that happens, you need a new mattress to, again, be comfortable. We don’t recommend pillowtop mattresses for this reason. A better alternative is to add a mattress topper to your mattress for that luxurious feel that a pillowtop provides…in essence, a removable pillowtop. This way, as the years go by, the topper is all you need to replace. It’s much more cost effective. Here’s a link to that PlushBeds mattress. It available in Medium or Medium Firm. I recommend the Medium Firm for greater longevity…and especially if the users are noticeably overweight. The choice of Medium is better for light to average weight people. This mattress comes with a 100 Night Trial Period…and, currently on sale. For that luxurious you’re after, add a 3” Soft Pure Latex Topper. Nobody has a better price than Latex for Less. Together with that mattress, you’ll have the 15” thickness of the Wynn bed. I recommend getting the optional cover to go with it.: Shown here: Latex for Less Mattress Toppers https://www.latexforless.com/products/latex-topper?variant=134346899481&sscid=71k8_rmsu0&utm_source=share-a-sale&utm_campaign=4342051 ****** You never want to put a new mattress on an old foundation. Doing so will void the warranty of any mattress. If you need a new boxspring/foundation, I recommend the Magniflex KD Foundation, which comes in your choice of height and color. They’re very strong and assemble easily with no tools needed. They are upholstered foundations, a bit dressy, but reasonably priced. Keeping your mattress clean and dry and odor free will enhance longevity. The Sleep & Beyond Organic Cotton Waterproof Mattress Protector is my recommendation…the one we use at home. It sleeps cool and works well.
