I need 2 mattresses. One for my wife and I. One for our young son. The problem, up till now, has been with mattresses that have been good at first, but not good after a few months. I’ve been reading your blog posts and you’ve convinced me to go with mattresses that have latex instead of memory foam. I’ve done some researching online and have found a variety of mattresses in different price ranges. Something tells me that there’s more to know about all of this. The cheaper latex comes from China, where they add clay to the mix during processing. With clay being a natural material, those mattresses are sold as using “All Natural Latex”. Not only does the clay filler lower the cost, it also shortens the life of the material. In having to replace it more frequently, it’s actually more expensive to use than “Pure Organic Latex” which has no filler. Pure Latex is All Natural, but All Natural isn’t, necessarily, pure. Well, the Stearns and Foster King size mattress that we ordered from you, many years back is DONE! We ordered a full and queen size from you after we moved in 2023. The absolute firmest/best mattress is the Natura Greenspring in firm. It’s really quite firm, and extremely long lasting. My wife and I have the ultra plush model from that line. I’m shopping for a Stearns and Foster Mattress. I had one many years ago. It was a great bed. I want one like it again. I read your blog post where you recommended a S&F Blisswood in Plush. My wife and I just got our new mattress delivered. It’s too high for my wife. We like the mattress but need a solution other than exchanging the mattress. What can I do to solve this problem? Thanks, Lou Hi Lou, There’s an easy and reasonably inexpensive solution for this. Most bed frames measure 7.5” high. A low profile bed frame measures only 4.5”.
