I have a new King sized Simmons/ Serta hospitality pillowtop mattress, and have it on the two twin foundations it came with on the floor, but have yet to get a slatted platform frame for it. With these beds which are more considered Hybrid compared to classic innerspring, would the bed feel likely firmer or softer if placed on a slatted frame with the foundation? Or would it feel exactly the same? I am considering a steel bed frame just to prevent any possible mold growth, but wonder if it would change how the mattress feels. If you put the foundation on a steel bed frame or a slatted platform makes no difference. A slatted platform doesn’t require the use of a foundation.
