My husband and I are in the market for an organic mattress. The question between us is, with or without a pillowtop. Can you send us information about your best options for both types? I just bought a queen-size Serta Perfect Sleeper Pillowtop mattress. After just 4 nights i already see body impressions where we sleep. Neither of us is particularly heavy, either. Is this because of the pillowtop or because the mattress is poor quality? I bought it because i thought the high coil density and decent coil gauge would give good support, and i chose the pillowtop for a bit of softness with that support. I have 60 days to return it. Should i? if i did return it, what would you recommend for two (mostly) side sleepers of average weight who like a supportive mattress with a little softness to sink into? Put a pillowtop on Serta Perfect Sleeper, or any name brand mattress, which are all upholstered with memory foam, and what you're experiencing is the norm. Yes, you should return it. If your store doesn’t have a mattress without memory foam, get a refund if you can. Another problem with retail stores is the comfort guarantee they offer that the manufacturer doesn’t. You may have gotten someone else’s mattress that was returned, which they resell as new…a despicable practice that’s totally illegal, but happens much too frequently…there’s no one policing this industry. If you find yourself getting a refund instead of an exchange, I invite you to visit our website. None of the mattresses that we have listed contain any memory foam. Nor are there any pillowtop mattresses. If you need to soften the surface of a mattress, it’s best to use a mattress topper, which can easily and far less expensively be replaced when needed…without having to buy a whole new mattress.
