We’ve been through a couple of memory foam mattresses over the last few years. At first, we love the feel and sleep great. The problem comes a few months later. We feel like we’re sinking into it, like the mattress is sagging. But it doesn’t look like it’s sagging after we get up in the morning. When we sink into it, our backs start hurting and it takes a couple of hours to shake that off after we get up. The other things, that we were willing to live with, is the chemical odor and the warmth from the mattress after we’ve been in it for a few hours. Is there a high quality memory foam mattress that we won’t sink into, or smell, or feel warm? I’d like to get this figured out before our next purchase. Thanks, Larry Hi Larry, Yes. There is! You are giving us memory foam guys a very hard time. We have lots of very happy customers, here in the UK. Would you not agree that there are different qualities of memory foam? Sure some of it is crap, but there is a lot of very good memory foam products out there too. Cheers, William Hi William, There is chemical based memory foam that off gasses the toxic chemicals from which it’s made. And there is plant based memory foam that doesn’t off gas. The former is most prevalent, here in the US. However, all of them are temperature sensitive, which tend to sleep hot and wear much too quickly. Reviews about “happy customers” are solicited shortly after purchase. Typically, those same customers are not so happy only months later. There is, however, a high quality memory foam type product. Perhaps you’re familiar with Magniflex MemoForm Foam, which is made in Italy. It provides the feel of memory foam, is chemical free, not temperature sensitive and remains like new for many years.
