I am looking for a new queen size mattress. I am replacing my full pillow top englander that is 15+ years old. It actually has been a great bed for the money. We’re in a mattress quandary. I like a firm mattress, my wife wants something a little softer, but not so soft you sink into the mattress. The mattress we now have is very firm and for a few years we've had a memory foam topper on it. My wife likes it but I don't. My friend has purchased several mattresses from you, over the last couple of decades, and says you are the go to guy. Presently, we have a Tempurpedic which hubby loves because of his acid reflux (mechanical bed) but I get a back ache. Two questions: Is there anything I can do to my extra long twin side to remedy that situation? Secondly, we need a new bed to go into a different home. Any recommendations? Still, the decision to trash a mattress is when it doesn’t allow you to sleep comfortably anymore. If the fabric remains wrinkled, and if that wrinkled fabric is the only thing that makes it uncomfortable, you can add a 2” latex topper to it, so that you no longer feel the wrinkles. As we’ve aged, it’s not soft enough anymore, as it had been. He has RA and I have knee hip pain, both side sleepers usually. Our mattress set is still in great shape. We've had a sleep number bed for a few years now and it's getting very uncomfortable. I've been reading your blog & am considering getting a latex topper to make it more comfortable until we can get a new mattress. Would you suggest the 2” or 3” latex topper? What would you suggest for a new mattress? I have scoliosis so I know I need something firm for proper back support but I sleep on my side a lot, which can be hard on my hips & shoulders. We bought a king size Simmons Beautyrest mattress less than a year ago, and it is already sagging on each side where we sleep. We are average weight. The middle is still perfect. We tried to exchange it, but the sagging is not 1.5' deep. I can't sleep at all. It is too soft for me and I am starting to have back pain in my lumbar region and in my neck. The spaciousness of a king allows the users to sleep further apart. The hump up the middle develops due to no one sleeping there. It’s what is known as “The Nature of the Beast”.
