Hello Pete, The Stearns and Foster Knightsbridge Pillowtop Mattress, that I purchased from you in 2002, seems to be at the end of its life, I'm sorry to say. I Loved this mattress and want to purchase the same mattress. Hi Pete, We are looking to replace our Sealy Posturepedic Signature Otter Trail Ultra Plush queen size mattress. We absolutely love this mattress but it's old and time to replace it. We haven't been able to locate this exact model (originally purchased MANY years ago). Can you advise of the current equivalent model? I see many people write for mattress advice. I am 4’11 and weigh 150. I have DDD, (degenerative disc disease), in my lower back. I sleep on side and stomach, mostly. I recently slept on a Beautyrest hospitality series Hyde Park mattress. My pain was gone after sleeping in it just two days. I currently sleep in a Ghostbed natural sleep mattress. It’s pretty firm. Our bed is also on an adjustable bed base. It has helped my pain level. However, I would like to be pain free. I have a Tempurpedic memory foam topper. Of course, it was very comfortable at first, but after time my back pain worsened. So, I do not use it anymore. It made me sleep hot. What is your recommendation? Hello Pete, Can you help me? We have an old Stearns and Foster double sided pillowtop medium firm queen mattress. We know they no longer are in existence, sorry to say, as it is a great mattress. Is there anything near a second best or what would you say is the best available today. We have a Simmons Beautyrest in that room now, the one that they claim you can drop a bowling ball on and not spill a glass of water, LOL. That was not why we bought it, but we did not expect the comfort level to drop as fast as it has. A sag developed. That old S&F mattress was made at a time when manufacturers competed with one another to make a quality product. Those days no longer exists for the name brands...and haven't for quite some time. Your old S&F mattress was one of the last great mattresses made by "The Cadillac of the Industry". Today, S&F is nothing more than expensive junk. S&F is not alone in this. All of the name brands have been sold...Sealy and S&F were purchased by Tempurpedic in 1013. Simmons and Serta were bought by an investment group in 2016. All have loaded their mattresses with memory foam. Memory foam is used for the express purpose of causing a mattress to need frequent replacing. Despite all the hype to the contrary, memory foam is thee worst upholstery material ever invented. Besides being a lousy product in terms of performance, it's also a health hazard...off gassing the toxic chemicals from which memory foam is made. (Adding injury to insult). Your mistake is in assuming that a new S&F mattress would be as good as your old one. We used to be a Sealy/S&F retailer...exclusively. We dropped both lines when Tempurpedic bought them and turned them into junk mattresses. We spent a good amount of time and effort at the industry trade shows, looking for high quality alternatives. Over the years, we home tested a number of different mattresses...with varying results. The one we have now, we like very much. It's 9.5 years old, now, and still like new....with each of us in the 200+ lb. range. I have lots of disc related back problems and my wife commonly suffers with hip pain.
