Hi Pete,
I'm looking for a full size mattress for my son who is 12 so would like it to take him through his teens etc. He currently has an old Serta Perfect Sleeper in twin I believe it is firm. I want another that is firm, but not too firm like a rock. Would like to get him a nice full size comfortable mattress that is priced well. No box spring needed. Thanks, Gail Hi Gail, The Eco-Terra Hybrid Latex Mattress in Medium is my recommendation. The pocketed coils of this mattress will provide excellent support. The pure, organic and hypoallergenic latex upholstery provides comfort that is extremely long lasting. It’s priced right, currently On Sale and comes with a 90 Night Trial. Click on this link to view that mattress and place your order. Eco-Terra Hybrid Latex Mattress https://ecoterrabeds.com/products/hybrid-latex-mattress?sscid=71k8_m5d12&utm_campaign=4342051&utm_source=share-a-sale Also recommended is a waterproof mattress protector, which prevents perspiration from seeping into the upholstery materials. Keeping your mattress clean and dry and will enhance the longevity of your mattress and keep it odor free. The Sleep & Beyond Organic Cotton Waterproof Mattress Protector is my recommendation…the one we use at home. It sleeps cool and works well. Hi Peter,
I have been reading your blog and I’m still a bit confused as to what type of mattress to buy my 2 year old daughter. I'd like to buy her a twin mattress that will last her awhile but don't want to break the bank buying one. I have looked at the Simmons Beautyrest Plush mattress but do not know where else to look or if it will even last her out of toddlerhood. What recommendations would you have for a mattress that was going to be used on a platform bed frame? Thanks, Allison Hi Allison, After Simmons was sold, everything they make has memory foam. Memory foam is made of many chemicals. Some of which are toxic. It’s a temperature sensitive material that allows the body to sink into it as it softens from body heat, which throws off the body’s natural alignment. And, it wears quickly. None of these things is good for anybody. Certainly not something you’d want to expose your child to. The individually pocketed coils are good, but a plush Beautyrest uses very thin gauge, untempered steel wire to make the coils. A growing body must have firm support and a comfortable sleeping surface that’s not too soft. The Eco-Terra Hybrid Latex Mattress has everything you want for her. Strong pocketed coils and pure, organic and hypoallergenic latex upholstery. A combination that lasts for many years. This mattress is the best you can buy for the least amount of money. It’s, currently, on sale…and comes with a 90 night trial period. I recommend it in Medium for your daughter. Click on this link to view and place your order. I am looking for a twin mattress for my little girl, who is turning three. It is her first big girl bed. (Her crib converts to a twin size) We don’t want the cheapest mattress, but we do want something of quality that will be supportive and last for a good long while. I would like to spend no more than $700, if that’s possible. Is there anything decent in that price range, that you would recommend? Thanks, Carla Hi Carla, The “Best for the Least” is had from Eco-Terra. The Hybrid Latex Mattress in Medium is my recommendation. The coils promote proper spinal ailment. The Pure, Organic and Hypoallergenic Latex upholstery provides long lasting comfort. It’s currently on sale and at your price point. Also, this mattress comes with a 90 Night Trial Period. This is the best you can get at that price, and all she’ll need for many years. Here’s the link to view that mattress and place your order. I am looking for a mattress for a 6 year old girl. Please advise as to what you recommend. Thank you, Rich Hi Rich, Best option…individually pocketed coils, for maintaining proper spinal alignment throughout her growth years, and Pure, Organic and Hypoallergenic Latex upholstery for long lasting surface comfort…without any chemicals to worry about. And, you don’t have to spend a lot for it. Best Value: The Eco-Terra Hybrid Latex Mattress in Medium. (Medium-Firm, if she’s big for her age) This mattress comes with a 90 Night Trial Period. Here’s the link: Eco-Terra Hybrid Latex Mattress https://ecoterrabeds.com/products/hybrid-latex-mattress?sscid=71k8_m5d12&utm_campaign=4342051&utm_source=share-a-sale ******* You never want to put a new mattress on an old foundation. Doing so will void the warranty of any mattress. If you need a new boxspring/foundation, I recommend the Magniflex KD Foundation, which comes in your choice of height and color. They’re very strong and assemble easily with no tools needed. They are upholstered foundations, a bit dressy, but reasonably priced. Shown here: Magniflex Foundations https://www.themattressexpert.com/foundations_and_bases.html#/ Also recommended is a waterproof mattress protector, which prevents perspiration from seeping into the upholstery materials. Keeping your mattress clean and dry and odor free will enhance longevity. The Sleep & Beyond Organic Cotton Waterproof Mattress Protector is my recommendation…the one we use at home.
