I bought a Serta icomfort mattress and I think I need to exchange it. I started getting itchy, and now I get hives. What could be in this mattress that I should avoid in my next bed? You will have to specifically ask for a mattress with no memory foam. However, your problem isn’t common among the many complaints I hear about memory foam. Other sources of your particular complaint may be: 1) New sheets that hadn’t been washed before using. Many new sheets are chemically treated. 2) A new laundry detergent, to which you may be reacting.
