Hi Pete, I’ve been looking for a new mattress. I’m average height and weight. I’m sleeping on a Tempurpedic mattress that’s only a couple of years old. At first, it was great. It really did relieve my back pain. Now, my back pain is back and worse than ever. What mattress would you recommed for a side sleeper? What about S&F? I remember that it used to be pretty good. What’s causing your back pain is the memory foam used by Tempurpedic, that softens from your body’s heat, allowing you to sink. Your spine is no longer being properly aligned. I’ve just been informed that my warranty claim has been denied because the body impression isn’t deep enough. I can tell you that it’s plenty deep when I’m in bed. It feels like it’s sagging. There’s a reasonably inexpensive, long term solution to your problem. Add a Soft Latex Topper after you’ve flipped the mattress over to the firmer side that has no memory foam on it. You already have a mattress providing the firm support that every body needs. You only need to make what you have more comfortable. You can do that with a mattress topper. There are many types, with a layer of soft pure organic and hypoallergenic latex being the most comfortable and longest lasting. 2” of Soft Latex does make a difference. But, the 3” Soft will give you the ultra plush feel that you desire. These toppers are available with or without an organic cotton zipper on cover. I recommend including a cover when you order. Avoid latex made in China. It usually isn’t pure latex and short lived.
