Hi Pete,
I’m a long time customer whose most recent purchase was a mattress about 2 years ago. I’m back looking for something to address my neck pain. My MRI results came to me electronically and of course the doc will explain things, but my initial neck xray (which is what led to MRI) shows severe arthritis and bone spurs and degenerative disc and I always heard that a body pillow stabilizes the spine so I was wondering which one you’d recommend. The natural curvature of my spine is now turning flat. A 76 year old Baby Boomer! Anyway, then I thought of you and what knowledge you have and how you’ve helped so many people. By the way, we love our mattress. Thank you for helping me along with thousands of other people. Cathy Hi Cathy, Welcome back. Your mattress was available in firm or plush. You bought the plush. The support system is individually pocketed coils, which provide firm but contouring support for your body, maintaining your spine’s natural alignment. I’m pleased to hear that you’re enjoying it, but not surprised. I’m recommending for you the same thing I use at home for similar reasons. I’m 73 with arthritis in my neck. I don’t have your bone spur or disc problem. I use 2 pillows (not at the same time). One is very soft. The other, not so much. They are the PureBliss latex pillows, shown here: https://www.themattressexpert.com/pure_bliss_talalay_pillows.html#/ I use the soft classic pillow, primarily, and the shredded latex pillow when my neck really hurts. For you, it would be just the opposite. The shredded latex allows you to manipulate the latex so that it fits just the way you want it to around your head and neck. This promotes maintaining the natural alignment of the vertebrae in your neck…the best you can do to relieve pain. The soft classic pillow is just deliciously comfortable and the perfect pillow for when you need to lay your head on something soft, like for relieving a headache. It also works great for relieving arthritis pain. For any lingering pain, there’s extra strength Excedrin. (Taken only with food). Works well…pain gone in 15 mins. I don’t see a body pillow as being effective for this.
