A Mattress to Support over 300 Lbs., with Low Back Pain

Hi Pete,
I am looking for a mattress, but I’m a bit overwhelmed. 
I would like a firm mattress that will support my weight, over 300 lbs.
I have low back problems, causing severe pain. 
It looks like a firm mattress with a soft latex mattress topper would be the best choice, but I am not sure which bed would be best. 
I want a mattress that will last. I have been sleeping in a recliner since I hurt my back. The last time I tried to sleep in a bed, I only made it two hours before my back ached so bad I had to get up & move to a chair. I miss stretching out in a bed! Help!! Please!

Your assessment is correct.
Adding a soft latex topper to a firm mattress does more than provide surface comfort. It absorbs much of your weight, which adds years of life to a mattress, giving you the longevity you want.

AND…
You never want to put a new mattress on an old foundation.
The mattress won’t feel or wear as it should, due to weak spots that develop in an old foundation.
And, doing so will void the warranty of any mattress.
