A Mattress for Heavy People with Back Pain

​Hi Pete,
I am in the market to replace my ancient queen mattress/box springs but am dealing with a couple of issues:
1) My husband and I are heavy people, around 200 lbs and are around the same height. We are both side sleepers.
2) I have back pain/degenerated discs and he has bad knees/feet.
I suppose I am looking for something sturdy (resistant to sagging) that will address the pain issues. Neither likes a soft mattress. 
I would like to keep it around $3000.

There is a mattress that is made for heavy people, that will address your back pain, but not one that’s specifically designed to help with knees and feet.
My wife and I are heavy. Each of us are more than 200 lbs.
The mattress we have is over 10 years old and still in great shape.

I have a very bad back, including degenerative & herniated discs.
This mattress allows me to sleep & wake without back pain.
It will do the same for you.
(Due to the high quality of the components, it’s not as soft as it sounds.)


If you need a new boxspring/foundation, I recommend the Magniflex KD Foundation, which comes in your choice of height, 5” or 8”, and in your choice of color…black, brown or gray.
They’re very strong and assemble easily with no tools needed.
They are upholstered foundations, a bit dressy, reasonably priced.

Also recommended is a waterproof mattress protector, which prevents perspiration from seeping into the upholstery materials.
Keeping your mattress clean and dry and will enhance the longevity of your mattress and keep it odor free.
